What is Bluetooth®?
Bluetooth® is the name of a wireless technology standard which allows different types of electronic devices to interact via short-range radio waves. Because of the versatility of Bluetooth® wireless technology, enabled devices do not share all of the same profiles. The HandsFreeLink® system is compatible with Bluetooth®-enabled phones that have a hands-free profile. The standard allows a wide range of devices to communicate with each other, with minimal user effort.
How do I get HandsFreeLink®?
HandsFreeLink® is standard on the 2004–2008 Acura TL, the 2005–2008 RL, the 2006–2008 TSX, the 2007-2008 MDX, and the 2008 RDX. It is included in the Touring Package for the 2005–2006 MDX and the Technology Package for the 2007 RDX.
How do I answer a call using HandsFreeLink®?
TO ANSWER A PHONE CALL:
After pairing is complete, your phone need only be in the vehicle and turned on. You can now answer calls without touching the phone.
- Press and release the "Talk" button on the steering wheel. The audio system automatically switches to hands-free mode. Begin talking.
- Press the “Back” button on the steering wheel when you are finished with your call.
How do I make a call using HandsFreeLink®?

- Say “call.” The vehicle will ask what name or number you would like to call.
- Press and release the “Talk” button on the steering wheel and say the number you would like to call. The vehicle will confirm the number and say, "Say CALL, DIAL, or CONTINUE to add numbers."
- Press and release the “Talk” button and say “call.” Your phone will then call the number.
- After your conversation, press the “Back” button. The audio system automatically returns to its prior mode.
My battery seems to drain more quickly when I use my Bluetooth®.
Battery performance depends on many factors, including the features and/or settings you select and use, including Bluetooth®. Utilizing the Bluetooth® feature in some phones may result in draining the battery; therefore, if you are not using the Bluetooth® feature, turn it off to preserve battery strength.
